The Nu-Xi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon mourns the passing of their brother, Nik Gallegos, who died at 10:24pm on Oct. 7, 2007. Members, alumni, and readers are asked to please pray for the family and friends of Nik, as well as the active chapter. A freshman from Mesquite, he touched the lives of many in the short time that he was at Stephen F. Austin.
Nik was incredibly athletic, and loved playing football, basketball, & soccer. A vital asset to our intramural soccer team, he helped propel us to the semi-finals in the Men's League. As a computer science student, Nik was making incredible progress towards that major. He went above and beyond the requirements of his programming assignments and lab work.Nik loved to ride his bike and skateboard around town as well as hang out with friends. He was a very easy-going, fun-loving person who could always cheer up anyone who came into contact with him. He was not a shy person at all, and as his mom put it, "He never met a stranger" at any point. He touched the lives of those close to him and many around him. Very family oriented, he sent a text message his grandmother every evening to tell her he loved her. Nik, you will be sorely missed.
